Main Duties and Responsibilities The responsibility of this role is to provide a full comprehensive technical support service to the Mackie’s production site over production shift pattern, supporting but not limited to Production and Engineering functions. Other key responsabilities include: Carry out PPM’s across all equipment ensuring schedule adherence and safety compliance. Complete equipment repairs where necessary to a high technical standard Identify areas of improvement and be able to implement changes to PPM’s and/or schedules to contribute to equipment reliability and performance. Create New PPM’s or work instructions where necessary. Ensure all Equipment safety checks are completed in a timely manner (100% compliance) Understand, use and interact with engineering systems Contribute to site and department auditory compliance. Support any engineering apprentices Carry out any other tasks as required Support line start-ups Carry out equipment tests and adjustments to optimise product quality Contribute to site and department auditory compliance. Carry out peer to peer training of operators and colleagues Carry out any other tasks as required Support Project department in the implementation of new equipment projects Participate in training for new equipment and carry out peer-to-peer training of operators and colleagues Support H&S maintain standards and implement improvements (additional training provided where necessary). Person Specification Our ideal candidate would possess strong knowledge of electrical fault finding, repair, and installation, complemented by a basic mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of various maintenance techniques. They would have a strong grasp of PLC interaction and repair (though not programming) and industrial electrical systems, alongside a basic understanding of pneumatic systems. Crucially, they will have a good understanding of food hygiene requirements and the importance of product quality and integrity within an FMCG environment. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel, coupled with a basic knowledge of CI techniques, is also required. Furthermore, our ideal candidate will demonstrate good skills in using hand tools and test equipment, excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, and strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English. They will be IT literate and able to read and interpret technical documentation in English. A basic knowledge of plant equipment, such as air compressors and pumps, would be advantageous.
Experience and Qualifications HNC or equivalent in electrical Previous experience in an FMCG environment preferably in Food or Drinks In depth operational experience in a similar role including shift work.
