Great Taste Awards for Ice Cream & Chocolate 7 August 2023 At Mackie’s we’re passionate about making simple delicious, so we’re delighted to have recently won THREE Great Taste Awards for doing exactly that! Both our newest and oldest ice cream recipes were awarded two stars: Traditional and Indulgent Toffee Fudge ice creams each won two stars, with our Dark chocolate also winning one star. In the food and drink industry, this is a highly respected seal of approval which we’re very proud of. The judges described our best-selling Traditional ice cream as ‘deliciously clean but noticeably light, creamy and gentle… sweetened to just the right level.’ For an ice cream that has been using the same original recipe since 1986, it’s great to hear such wonderful comments. They topped it off by noting it is ‘Simple and delicious’. Exactly what we aim for! As for our newest ice cream flavour, Indulgent Toffee Fudge, it was described as ‘A delight for adults and kids alike.’ Judges loved the swirls of toffee sauce, the texture of the fudge pieces and most importantly, the creaminess of the ice cream. It wasn’t just our ice cream that took all the glory as our farm-made Dark chocolate, containing 70% cocoa, took home one star too. ‘There is a creamy richness to this dark chocolate and it melts nicely on the tongue.’ We always aim to provide the highest standard of products and it is an absolute delight to be recognised in this way. Our team will be celebrating these awards and we look forward to developing more award-winning ice creams and chocolate.
