Main Duties and Responsibilities Production & Process Management: Monitor and report on area effectiveness, stock levels, yield, waste, and labour. Regularly review production processes to maximise efficiencies and minimise waste. Manage resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to meet production targets. Ensure appropriate updates to production plans are made in line with changing demands and in liaison with Sales Support and Planning team. Communicate performance against agreed KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary. Continuous Improvement & Training: Champion a culture of continuous improvement, applying industry best practice to achieve and maintain operational excellence. Manage the development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each production area, ensuring they are clear, user-friendly, and up to date. Manage the upskilling project across all production areas, ensuring employees are well-trained in various production areas, in line with completion of training plans and understanding of SOPs. Regularly seek feedback from teams to improve the employee experience and operational effectiveness. Problem-Solving & Cross-Functional Collaboration: Apply root cause analysis to resolve issues quickly and prevent repeat occurrences. Work collaboratively with other functions to build and maintain effective cross-functional relationships. Update the Head of Production on all production matters and provide ad-hoc support to Head of Production on project work as required. Health & Safety & Compliance Lead training initiatives to ensure all employees are up-to-date with the latest health and safety regulations, emergency procedures, and best practices. Promote a strong safety culture across all levels of the workforce. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. Ensure that all safety protocols are clearly communicated, understood, and followed by all staff, including the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and adherence to safe working practices. Food Safety & Quality Assurance Ensure strict adherence to food safety standards, including hygiene protocols, to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Lead efforts to maintain compliance with food safety regulations, such as BRCGS (British Retail Consortium Global Standards), HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice). Work with the quality assurance team to ensure that all products meet internal and external quality standards, including customer and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and inspections of the production process to identify and address any potential food safety risks or quality issues. Promote a food safety culture within the team, ensuring all employees are trained and up to date on food safety practices.

Experience and Qualifications Experience in a Production Management or Supervisory role within a modern food manufacturing business. Experience in maintaining hygiene, food safety, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Exposure to BRCGS, customer, and other relevant audit experience.
