The sleeve introduction is that this book "features classic
desserts including tarte tatin, pavlova and lemon tart; comfort
food such as sticky toffee pudding, chocolate chip cookies and apple
and toffee muffins; old favourites including spicy plum crumble,
ginger parkin and lemon meringue pie and traditional recipes such
as summer pudding, lardy cake, junket ice cream and Kentish pudding
pie." That should illustrate very quickly why this is a great
desserts book! There are also many modern recipes and a good basics
section which includes tuiles - which would look good on top of
Mackie's ice cream. Our favourite is one of the classics - yet with
a slight twist - blueberries add a slightly sharper taste to an
Apple
and Blueberry Pie. We have added that recipe to the database
so that you can enjoy it with some ice cream.
