Traditional Ice Cream was our first, and remains your favourite, ice cream. Traditional is a fresh, creamy smooth ice cream with a natural creamy taste. There’s no added flavour - not even vanilla. Traditional is equally popular on its own or as an accompaniment to other desserts.
Chef’s enjoy using Traditional in the same way or as the base ingredient to create their own speciality ice cream desserts. TheTraditional recipe helps us create most of Mackie’s range of flavours – we just have to add our choice of sauce in ripples or pieces like fruit or chocolate. We recommend you try adding your own flavours at home too.
The hallmark of Mackie’s Luxury dairy ice cream is that they all have a smooth texture & creamy taste being made with fresh milk and cream and other natural ingredients. All our ice creams are made on the farm in Aberdeenshire and you can find out more on how that is done in the Ice Cream section.
“Vanilla” is often used to describe white ice creams, and while there’s none to be found in Traditional, or our Organic version of Traditional, you will find Vanilla flavouring in Cream of Scottish – a deeper yellow Cornish style soft scoop ice cream.
Mackie’s most popular size is a family sized 1 Litre round tubs which you should be able to find in your local store. We also make ice creams in individual mini tubs (with spoon in lid) and various other sized tubs - up to 10 litre tubs for scooping parlours or restaurants.
