THE
GOLDEN COMPASS TERMS & CONDITIONS

Entries can be submitted from www.mackies.co.uk/goldencompass
Closing date for entries is 31st May 2008.
2. This competition is open to all residents of the UK except for employees, and agencies of Entertainment Film Distributors and Mackie's Limited.
3. No purchase necessary.
4. No trade, third party or consumer group applicants will be accepted. No responsibility can be accepted for any entries damaged, delayed or lost in the post. Proof of posting is not proof of receipt.
5. The winners will be picked at random by an independent person in the first week of June 2008. Winners will be notified by email and post within 28 days of the closing date.
6. There is one first prize, this includes a hot air balloon trip for four people - you will receive 2 vouchers, each voucher is valid for 2 people. There is no upper age limit but passengers must be agile enough to climb into the basket (which is about 42 inches (1.1m) high) and to stand for an hour. Children must be at least 8 yrs old, children under the age of 16 years will only be flown if accompanied by a responsible adult appointed by the parent(s) or guardian. All passengers should be at least 4ft 6ins (1.4m) in height to see over the edge of the basket. In the interests of safety and operational requirements they are unable to undertake the carriage of any passengers whose declared weight exceeds 18 stones (114 kg). The Voucher is not valid for London flights. You can take your balloon trip from a choice of 65 participating launch sites around the UK. The flight will last for approximately one hour but the whole experience may last approximately four hours. In the event that your flight is cancelled due to bad weather, the balloon operator will make alternative arrangements with you for another date. It is the pilot's decision on all aspects of the flight. Once you have activated your voucher you must attempt to take the flight at least 8 times within the same season. Thereafter, an extension fee will be payable to the balloon operator for redemption of the voucher.
7. There are 5 x 2nd prize winners who will win a Nintendo DS console and a copy of the Golden Compass game. There are 15 x 3rd prize winners who will win a copy of the Golden Compass Nintendo DS game. There are 25 x 4th prizes of a copy of The Golden Compass book. There are 50 runners-up who will win a limited edition Golden Compass poster. ALL PRIZEWINNERS will receive a voucher for a free tub of Mackie's ice cream - so it is worth entering whatever happens!
8. All prizes are subject to availability. These prizes are as stated, non-transferable and no alternatives will be offered.
9. Entry implies acceptance of the rules as final and legally binding. The judge's decision is final and no correspondence shall be entered into.
