MACKIE'S PRIVACY POLICY

To be Brief.
We will not record any information about you without your permission. We will not share your information with any other companies. We will only use this to send you information about and from Mackie's. By providing your personal details to us, you signify your acceptance of our Privacy Statement. You will have an opportunity to unsubscribe whenever we communicate with you.

In greater depth
Mackie's Ltd is a family owned vertically integrated fine food and farming business. The purpose of our website is to inform our customers about our product and our business. We also want to communicate with our consumers, both to answer any queries and to learn from the feedback we receive. Our aim is to make the products which you want and get to know the people who are enjoying our ice cream.

We need your permission to keep in touch like this. We are registered under the terms of the Data Protection Act and committed to best practice regulations. We only want to be sending our messages to people who want to receive them.

You can be assured that we only use your information for our own communication to you - we do not sell or allow access to any other company. We have an immediate unsubscribe function which means that your name is instantly removed from the mailing list if you ever want to remove your permission to contact you.

If you have any queries you can contact us by email at mackies@mackies.co.uk or using the contact form on the website or by telephoning our farm office on 01467 671466.

Use of your information.

Mackie's website has three possible ways you may be asked for contact information.

1) Friends of Mackie's registration. See the form here

Email contact for Mackie's Messages.
We request the minimum detail of your first name, surname and email address. This is enough for us to be able to speak to you by email. We have a mailing list of Friends of Mackie's and we keep in touch by sending occasional "Mackie's Message" by email. They are intermittent and usually less frequent than monthly. It should not be annoying! The purpose of Mackie's Messages are to inform you of new products and new offers and sometimes to ask for your views for our development work. We usually reward any efforts on response with the chance of some free ice cream.

Your profile information.
We do ask you to tell us more about yourself if possible. Again this both means that we can learn about who enjoys our ice cream and try to produce new products which may be of interest but also gives us the chance to make our information more relevant - for example you may only want to know about a promotion which is available in the store type you normally visit.

Children. Registrants should be over 18 years or be made with consent of a parent or guardian. However, parents can be assured that all information issued by Mackie's will be family friendly.

2) Competitions
Ice cream is a fun indulgence. We aim to provide a mix of fact and fun on our website and on our tubs. One way we do this is to have some competitions, promotions and surveys with a reward for completion. The content for each is different (and we are always pleased to hear any good suggestions for a new one ) but usually involves asking you for contact information in order to enter the competition. This type of information is only held as a temporary record until the advertised close of the competition when we contact the winners and delete the information. An example is our draw to win a year of ice cream. You can enter these competitions without agreeing to any other use of your information.

The moocards are private for you to enjoy. We have no copy of your messages nor do we access the contact details for senders and recipients.

The competition moocard is a little different, because it offers the chance to win prizes when you are the lucky sender/recipient. We temporarily record the number and details of the sender and recipient information on the competition moocard in order to be able to identify and contact winners. As soon as that happens the information is deleted.

We try to remember to add an opt in question to our competition entry forms. This means we get an extra chance to ask you if you'd like to join Friends of Mackie's as you complete the survey or competition forms, but there will be no discrimination on the entries received which do not opt to join the Friends of Mackie's. Those who do elect to join will have their email added to our mailing list. As explained above this information can be deleted at any point using our unsubscribe service on the website or by emailing unsubscribe@mackies.co.uk.

We may share non-personal survey information with others, such as our retailers, in aggregate anonymous form, which means that the information will not contain any personally identifiable information about you.

3) Shopping Barrow
We have an online shop selling some branded merchandise, coolboxes and refrigeration products. Your address detail and any other contact information provided is only used to fulfil your order.

We have installed a secure online purchasing facility and are confident that this meets an acceptable level of security for you to insert your financial details in order to make a purchase. We offer alternative postal purchase by cheque if you concerned about this method. We are not aware of any problems incurred for customers - other than occasional inability to process the payment. We may use your personal information in order to respond to your queries and requests and to manage transactions such as credit card payments for any goods that you order from us or any of our agents, or for the fulfilment of such transactions (e.g. delivery). The personal information you provide may be used by an authorised vendor to fulfil that order.

Security
Our data is kept and backed up in secure premises and the server has appropriate firewall and other technical support added. We endeavour to take all appropriate measures to prevent unauthorised access or inaccuracy.

We have recently added a new registration process which means that if you complete the registration form to join Friends of Mackie's that you will have to confirm that intention on receipt of a verification email. This process is in accordance with best practice and enables us to check that you are the real user of that email address and that you really do intend to join us.

Contact
You can contact us with any queries on our privacy policy or to check your registration status at mackies@mackies.co.uk or telephone our farm office at 01467 671466.
