Mac
Mackie, Managing Director
Maitland
Mackie Jnr is known as Mac. Student life included a Law degree
from Aberdeen and later an MBA from Edinburgh. Mac has worked
with Mackie's since 1992, cutting his teeth on sales development
and retail store visits in London. He moved back to the farm
in a Finance manager role and continues to oversee Production
and Finance.
He has overseen the consolidation of our farms area, growth
of the ice cream dairy production to a capacity of over 12 million
litres a year and recent installation of automated milking.
His first years as Managing Director began with the sale of
the former milk retail business and thereafter a focus to cut
costs and centralise the farming business has taken him well
on his way towards his aim of a profitable ice cream business
from a profitable Scottish farm. His most recent new ventures
for the company is investment in ice
cube production and renewable
energy
Mac
is a leader with a considered and logical approach and a quiet
character on first impression. That impassive exterior hides
an enthusiastic ambition to build the business - and a dry wit
experienced in short one liners.
His favourite activities include running, the chaos of activity
centred on his four children including the youngest Maitland
known as Mike, - and he still manages time for golf and red
wine.
