Carron Taylor, Personnel & Administration Director

Carron joined Mackie's business in 1993 as Personnel and Administration Manager, a role which at that time, was a blank canvas for development.

Carron's degree, BA(Hons) in Business Studies gained at Robert Gordon's University in Aberdeen where she chose to specialise in HR and marketing along with general business management gave her a rounded qualification on which to base her career. On leaving university, Carron worked with Aberdeen Enterprise Trust gaining experience in small business management and training before joining the Mackie's team.

During her time with Mackie's, her role has grown and continuously developed. Initially, Carron spent her time focussed on people management and management systems development. The main achievements which followed included Mackies accreditation as an Investor in People in 1997, and several quality marks in all sectors of the business as a result of our move to procedural based management systems and people development.

Whilst these systems are all now embedded in everyday life, Carron's remit carries on to focus on the continuous improvement of the systems and in project managing the change process - something which happens on an ongoing basis in Mackies! Carron is also responsible for the administration team who provide a support service to each of the departments within Mackies.

Carron has recently added to her portfolio, the remit of looking after our "extended workforce" - the 600 dairy cows and youngstock who work very hard for us to produce the high quality milk needed for ice cream production.
This involves working very closely with the Dairy Manager to optimise the benefits of the robotic milking operation which has recently been installed. Her role is manage the people and assist in developing work routines - to help ease the continual challenges faced as a result of such a revolutionary change.

Carron now juggles her career with family life. 2 young children, and busy husband! make her life hectic. Determined to enjoy both however, Carron now works part-time and spends most of the remaining free time having fun with the kids and pursuing their favourite activities.

When it all gets too much, Carron has a keen interest in holistic therapies and uses the techniques she has learnt to relax herself - sharing them with others around her - as time allows!
